History
The
school photography aspect of the company started in 1990 when The owner's daughter
was in kindergarten. The director at her school knew that Carlo had been doing
weddings and other photography and asked if he would photograph the students
at the school. He thought to himself, how hard can it be to photograph a bunch
of kids? To his amazement it was quite easy and a lot of fun.
The
only difficulty was the production side of things. We didn't have the
facilities to print hundreds of sheets of happy little faces. As luck would
have it, a colleague was in the process of retiring from his photography
business. We made an arrangement to purchase his equipment and set
up our own lab. He was also very generous in introducing a few of
his clients, which are still clients of ours to this day.
As
the years roll on, technology changes and so must we. Last year we finally
shut down the lab and switched to digital photography. With digital
photography the quality is excellent and the options available are
much greater than they ever were with film. In conjunction with a local
photo lab and their talented technicians we can create and deliver the
latest products to meet the demands of the modern consumer.
Coming
soon we will implement chroma key technology. The student will be photographed
in front of a green screen. You then choose from a variety of backgrounds,
which will be added in production. Just like they do on TV and movies.
Fun stuff. We will be doing tests this winter (Jan 2008) and add it to our
product line for the spring grad season and the 20085-2009 school year.
The
future and technology will change but our main philosophy is still the same.
" We strive to make sure your that children
look great in their photos and we want to deliver a high quality photograph that you
will be proud to share with friends and family." After all isn't that what
school photos are all about?
